Egypt in Crisis - the Narrative Must Change

#‎Egypt‬ - The narrative must change. The world needs a better explanation of the recent events in Egypt.

Morsi was arrested for violating the Constitution he was sworn to uphold, and he is being accused of treason, jail-breaking, kidnapping, and murder.

To those who have not been aware of any events in Egypt since February 2011 when events in Egypt were last on the news, the lack of awareness about Morsi's crimes has created the appearance that there has been a coup in Egypt. This is incorrect. This was an upholding of the Constitution by the Minister of Defense on behalf of the Egyptian people as he was sworn to do.

Please spread the word that the events in Egypt reflect an arrest of the president for violating the Constitution as well as allegations of treason, jail-breaking, kidnapping, and murder.

With no remaining procedure for impeachment, this was the only legal course of action to bring to justice a president who had violated his sworn duty to uphold the Constitution (to the point where he unilaterally threw out the Constitution and appointed a group to improperly draft an illegally ratified replacement Constitution).

This contravention of the law cannot be tolerated by any democracy.
